Résumé

14 Years of professional digital experience

Currently…

Senior E-Commerce Specialist

Essent Belgium

As an energy provider Essent has a relatively difficult sign-on flow: Every customer has a different price, there are legal and various technical restraints. On top of that commodities are difficult to market since everyone needs them. All of those factors make this a challenging post that allowed me to learn how to work with many different stakeholders, and how to activate them to roll out the e-commerce agenda.

Skills picked up
  • Coordinating between different teams & partners
  • Marketing & selling commodities
  • Corporate communication

Lecturer data visualisation

Vives Brugge

Vives asked me if I was interested to teach their post graduate digital marketing class about data visualisation. I’ve written about it in detail, but I was amazed at how much I grew as a person by doing this. Teaching is a two-way street: you learn as much as your class does.

Skills picked up
  • Explaining complicated concepts
  • Dealing with stress & nerves
  • Structuring a course

Started 2018

Co-Organiser

MeasureCamp Brussels

100 Strangers coming together on a Saturday to talk about data & analytics. Exchanging knowledge & ideas, meeting like minded people. We find the location, the food and drinks and sponsors to pay for it all. The participants bring the content. I’m a passionate supporter of this wonderful unConference.

Skills picked up
  • Organising a live event
  • Embracing organised chaos
  • Dealing with sponsors

I’ve got to know Tim as a reliable colleague and ‘fixer’ with an authentic communication style; who’s very proactive in making strategic recommendations on how to improve various digital channels.

Bart Cuylaerts – E-Commerce Manager at Essent

Previously…

Team leader

Bakermen

I helped transition this start-up online marketing agency from a team of three to a team of ten. We make sure our actions and advice leaves nothing on the table for our customers. In four years we grew to 60 customers, including Belgium’s biggest media-group.

Skills picked up
  • Unify performance across team members
  • Setting up cross platform strategies
  • Inbound marketing

2011 – 2018

Founder

Websaus

We focused on giving small businesses an enterprise experience in online marketing. We set-up dashboards for banks and other institutions, and helped several start-ups by running optimisation tests for them.

Skills picked up
  • Starting a business
  • Peer to peer communication
  • Conversion Optimisation

2010 – 2011

Web Analytics Consultant

Telenet

In order to fund the start of Websaus I worked as a Web Analytics contractor for Telenet. I advised what content needed refreshing and how to best present our offers. I set-up and maintained a dashboard used for performance meetings.

Skills picked up
  • Google Analytics API
  • Agile workflow
  • Communicating requirements

2010

Senior Digital Marketing Consultant

QueroMedia (OnlyHumans)

My responsibility was to devise strategies, implement them for the key accounts and run reporting meetings with clients. I helped QueroMedia obtain its Google Analytics Partnership, sending me to Google in Mountain View and London for Partner Summits.

Skills picked up
  • Running better meetings
  • Setting up business relationships
  • Working across teams

2008 – 2010

SEO Consultant

QueroMedia (OnlyHumans)

I started my professional career as an SEO consultant at QueroMedia. Those first months taught me a lot of things I still fall back on today: How to meet with customers, how to quickly learn new technologies and how to get on with it. I’m still thankful that this team was my first, as its work ethic set the tone for the rest of my career.

Skills picked up
  • Can do work ethic
  • Self learning
  • Being part of a team

2007 – 2008

Tim was an absolute advantage to strategic decisions. Our company has learned a lot and was able to help many customers.

Matthew Herberts – bakermen

He knows everything there is to know about usability and SEO. Tim is constantly educating himself and his colleagues. You can rely on Tim’s judgement.
